Boko Haram has released 27 of its
hostages, including the wife of Cameroon’s Deputy Prime Minister and 10
Chinese construction workers.
The announcement was made via a statement from President Paul Biya‘s office, The Independent reports.
According to reports, the labourers were
abducted on May 16th from their Waza base, which is located around the
Nigeria-Cameroon border.
The other 17 had been abducted from
Kolofata town in the country on July 27th, after 200 insurgents invaded
their homes, setting fire to all their residences.
Authorities have confirmed that the former hostages are safe.
