According to an AFP interview obtained by Vanguard, National Security Advisor Sambo Dasuki stated that “all known Boko Haram camps will be taken out” before March 28, which is the date of the rescheduled elections.
“They won’t be there. They will be dismantled,” he reportedly said, when asked what gains could be made against the insurgents before the elections.
He further stated that even if the goal of eliminating Boko Haram was not achieved, “the situation then would surely be conducive enough for elections.”
