Louis van Gaal is a man with a plan. Despite having spent around £80 million during the current transfer window, the Manchester United manager has confirmed that he is eyeing a “Galactico” signing. The Daily Star reports that the £46 million or so set to come in Angel Di Maria’s impending sale to PSG will be put to good use this summer.
However, Van Gaal has ruled out Cristiano Ronaldo as being too expensive, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic would rather link up with Di Maria in Paris instead. It seems that Van Gaal may have to do without Sergio Ramos as well — The Daily Star reports that the defender and his brother/agent will meet club president Florentino Perez on Monday and say that the 29-year-old wants to stay at Real Madrid, with a new contract close.
Tough luck, United fans — as for David De Gea, Marca is suggesting that United are “perplexed” by Real’s negotiating tactics and are unlikely to sell the goalkeeper.
