Cristiano Ronaldo’s summer move to Paris Saint-Germain from Real Madrid seems more likely than ever after a French newspaper published the contents of a conversation between the Portuguese superstar and PSG boss Laurent Blanc.
Ronaldo, 30, has been non-committal about his future in recent interviews, including a chat with German magazine Kicker that Madrid president Florentino Perez would later confront him about.
And, as he embraced Blanc at the end of Real Madrid’s 1-0 win over PSG on Tuesday, Le Parisien reports that Ronaldo once more hinted at a move to Ligue 1.
“Your team plays really well,” Ronaldo is alleged to have said.
“I would love to work with you.”
PSG president Nasser El-Khelaifi, who was this week rumoured to have met with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes, did nothing to dampen speculation himself while at the Bernabeu on Tuesday.
The Qatari-owned club are known to be long-term admirers of the 30-year-old, and have been linked with a move for him this summer.
And when asked about PSG’s interest in Ronaldo, El-Khelaifi said:
“Ronaldo has a contract with Real and we respect that.
“Negotiations would be in secret… but nothing for now,” he laughed.
