Military sources have confirmed that over 50 persons were killed by
scores of Boko haram terrorists that attacked Dalori, a village about 5
kilometers from the Borno State capital of Maiduguri.
According to our sources, the Islamist militants were armed with AK
47 rifles and “other sophisticated weapons” and terrorised the village
in an operation lasted over three hours. According to Vanguard, the
terrorists arrived the village in hilux vans dressed in camouflage, so
villagers mistook them for Nigerian troops.
This attack comes weeks after President Muhammadu Buhari declared
victory of the terrorist group which has been named the world’s
deadliest killing over 20,000 in a campaign it has waged against the
Nigerian state since 2009 in a bid to declare Nigeria an Islamic
republic.
The Trent reported an attack on Saturday night by
Boko Haram terrorists in the village of Dalori about 5 kilometers from
Maiduguri. The Islamist militants were using explosives and guns began
looting and burning down homes for an hour before Nigerian troops
engaged them in a fierce gun battle.
Eye-witness accounts say that the village was burnt down by
the terrorists who have been waging a deadly campaign to make Nigeria
an Islamic country. An AFP report confirms that the village was burnt
down by the terrorists.
“During the incident lives were lost while some people sustained
injuries,” Colonel Mustapha Anka, a Nigerian Army spokesman said in a
statement.
Residents maintain that over 100 people were killed in the attacks. A local journalist who spoke to The Trent by telephone said that the body count is “high”.
Bodies
of the victims have been deposited at the Borno State Specialist
Hospital and the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, both in
Maiduguri.
“Several others whose numbers were estimated at 70 who received
gunshot, machete injuries, etc, were also evacuated to the two
hospitals,” a source said.
