CALL FOR NOMINATIONS AS WEST AFRICAN PHILANTHROPY AWARDS TEAM COMMISSIONS PROJECTS IN NIGERIA

As it is with the annual practice of the West African Philanthropy awards team to encourage individuals and NGOs to establish projects and activities that can directly impact and positively affect the lives of the average citizens in the host country; 

Like we did in Accra and Volta region in Ghana, the Team of the West African Philanthropy Awards from 7 African Countries led by Princess Nwakahesya Joyce, Dr. Jerry Ganthar,  Amb. Babalola Omoniy, Nicky Nwandinobi, Eno Praise, Jessical Mbeki, Ruparelia Akwato and Koffi Kobina visited Nigeria to commission several landmarks projects initiated by Bar. Uju Ken Ohaneye, a Nigerian whose life is totally sold out to charity and philanthropy. Using her NGO KENUJ Shower Of Love Charitable Organization, a Non-Governmental, Non-Profit Health/Wealth-Based human Oriented Foundation aimed at giving hope and putting smiles on the faces of indigent and sick members of our society who cannot afford the basic demands of life due to poverty, Bar. Uju Ken-Ohaneye  Built, Furnished and equipped Health Centres in many communities, these include:  
Kushe – Makaranta, Kagarko LGA, Kaduna.Dimagu Community, Isiekenesi LGA, Imo State.Inata Community, Obieba-Ihima, Okehi LGA, Kogi State.Ubogwu Community in Awo-Omamma Oru East LGA, Imo State.Izuoha Community in Amuzi Ahiazu Mbaisa LGA, Imo State.Donation of Dialysis Machines and its water tank that can service extra five dialysis machine to Annunciation Hospital in Enugu, Enugu State.Donation of some freezers to some less privileged women (widows) suffering in Aba, Abia State.Built and equipped skill acquisition centres in Ubogwu, Awo Omamma to teach; (a) Sewing and hair tie tying (b) Baking (c) Hair dressing; All three equipped for the purposeEquipped these health centres with hospital equipment including furniture, TV, Generator set, Fridge for the drugs, etc
The West Africa Philanthropy Awards is an annual event conceived to give proper recognition through the conferment of awards of excellence and distinction to individuals, corporate and communities engaged in sustainable social development through giving of their time, money and skills to worthy initiatives aimed towards strategic social development in West Africa. Our main objective is to celebrate outstanding contributions of Individuals and organizations so as to create awareness on the significance of giving thereby creating role models for local philanthropy.
The Advisory board of the WAP Award calls for nomination for the 2016 West African Philanthropy Awards holding in Abuja, Nigeria. Suitable candidates for this award are West African philanthropic institutions and individuals who show a tangible commitment to lasting and institutional change, who are committed to genuine partnership with local, national or international communities, and who advance a vision/voice of African agency and self-determination.
